Corporate & social responsibility

Charitable causes

We encourage our research participants to offer a percentage of their fee to either our own chosen charities or causes of their choice. Through their generosity we were able to pass on over £5k in 2012.

On top of this our own people raised more than £2k through organising coffee mornings, quizzes and masochistic sporting endeavours.  Many thanks to all those who went the extra mile!

Our 3 supported charities are:

St Mungo's housing, supporting and caring for vulnerable and excluded people who either have been, or are at risk of, sleeping rough and homelessness.

Alzheimer's Society is the leading support and research charity for people with dementia, their families and carers.

The Phoenix Project - Nicaragua We sponsor the sports programme of the Phoenix projects for Sustainable Education in Nicaragua. Our contributions help our young friends in Nicaragua participate in their local football league.

27/2/13 Battersea’s Oscar fundraiser

The 4th Battersea Academy Awards Guessing Game and Team Trivia Competition (BAAGGTTC) was held on Monday lunchtime.  Clayton Fussell hosted the event (so much more natural than Seth MacFarlane) at our Battersea HQ and used the opportunity to preview his new film Day Return.  Thanks to some wonderful home baking we raised £210 which will be sent to our friends at Phoenix Projects, Nicaragua, helping provide the children with a rounded education.

We put our expertise in research to good effect by actively supporting Talking Taboos, a campaigning brand set up by our parent company Cello Group to make a positive difference in the world by helping to tackle some of the unspoken taboos that plague society today.

Alongside our Cello Group colleagues and in conjunction with the charity YoungMinds we played a major role in researching the  Talking Taboos - 'talking self-harm' report published in October 2012 which looked into society’s perceptions of young people who self-harm.

Environment

We are determined to minimise our environmental impact at every level within the company. We adhere to a strict environmental policy which can be downloaded here. Very simply this means that we:

  • Manage our IT equipment in a responsible and sustainable way, ensuring that all redundant equipment is either disposed of correctly or passed on to charities, and all consumables are recycled
  • Operate our offices in an energy efficient manner, replacing existing technology with low emission alternatives
  • Deploy latest technology to minimise our carbon footprints. We use voice and video conferencing to minimise travelling requirements
  • Minimise paper usage and work with Green Your Office to recycle all our waste paper
  • Have procedures in place to ensure all our waste is recycled
  • Encourage cycling to work through participation in government bike schemes and provision of secure cycle storage
  • Walk the walk by continually promoting environmental awareness through company literature and procedures
